Technique

  1. Hold a weight by your side, then lift it up to the side away from you.
  2. Continue lifting it upward until it is overhead.
  3. Continue the circular motion by slowly bringing it back down in front of you on the other side, until it is back at the starting position.
  4. Perform this movement in both directions; a full circle in any direction (outside or inside) counts as one repetition.
