Technique
- Start by standing with a weight or band (secured under your foot) in one hand, palm facing your body, and feet shoulder-width apart.
- Keep a slight bend in your elbow and lift the dumbbell directly to the side until it reaches shoulder height.
- Control the descent back to the starting position and repeat the movement.
Form tips
- Maintain a neutral spine and avoid leaning to the opposite side during the lift.
- Focus on lifting the weight using the side shoulder muscles, not momentum.
