Technique

  1. Sit on the floor with your legs bent and your feet close to your hips.
  2. Place your hands beside your hips, fingers pointing forward, to the sides, or backward.
  3. Press firmly through your hands and lift your hips off the ground.
  4. Pull your knees toward your chest while keeping them together.
  5. Hold the body suspended with the knees tucked and the feet off the floor.
  6. Maintain the position for the desired duration before lowering back down.

Form tips

  1. Push strongly through the hands and depress the shoulders ( Shoulder depression ) to create space between the shoulders and ears.
  2. Keep the arms straight.
  3. Engage the core to keep the knees close to the chest.
