Technique

  1. Begin standing with a weight in each hand, arms hanging by your sides.
  2. Keeping a slight bend in your elbows, raise the weights directly in front of you, aiming for shoulder height.
  3. Pause briefly at the top of the movement, then lower the weights back down in a controlled manner.

Form tips

  1. Lift the weights using your shoulder muscles, avoiding excessive momentum.
  2. Keep your core engaged and don't arch your back when lifting the weights
