Technique

  1. Begin standing with a weight in one hand, arm hanging by your side.
  2. Keeping a slight bend in your elbow, raise the weight directly in front of you, aiming for shoulder height.
  3. Pause briefly at the top of the movement, then lower the weight back down in a controlled manner.

Form tips

  1. Lift the weight using your shoulder muscles, avoiding excessive momentum.
  2. Keep your core engaged and don't arch your back when lifting the weight.
