Muscles

Technique

  1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, holding a Barbell with an overhand grip (palms facing down) at thigh level.
  2. Raise the barbell in front of you by lifting your arms upward until the bar reaches shoulder height.
  3. Keep the movement controlled, avoiding any jerking or swinging.
  4. Lower the barbell back down to the starting position in a slow and controlled manner.

Form tips

  1. Avoid using momentum; focus on using your shoulders and upper chest to lift the barbell.
  2. Don’t let your lower back arch; keep your core engaged to support your spine.
  3. Avoid shrugging your shoulders up toward your ears as you raise the barbell.
  4. Control the descent as much as the ascent to maximize muscle engagement.
