Technique

  1. Begin by standing with a Barbell firmly gripped at shoulder height.
  2. Start with a slight dip at the knees, then explosively drive through your legs, straightening them and pressing the Barbell overhead.
  3. Finish with arms fully extended overhead.
  4. Lower the weight back down to your shoulders with control.

Form tips

  1. Engage your core muscles throughout the movement to maintain stability.
  2. Ensure a controlled dip at the knees, avoiding excessive bouncing or dipping.
  3. Use the power generated from your lower body to assist in pressing the weight overhead.
  4. Keep your elbows slightly forward and under the bar during the press.
