Technique

  1. Start in L-base .
  2. The base places the toes under the flyer's sit bones while the flyer stands near the base's hips, then the flyer jumps up in sync with the base extending the legs to vertical.
  3. The flyer leans back as the base pushes up and lifts them.
  4. The base moves the hands to the flyer's feet. At this point the flyer should be mostly standing on the base's hands, only balancing on the base's toes.
  5. Using a Hand-to-hand grip , the base pushes the pointer and middle finger knuckles into the soles of the flyer's feet, while the flyer presses into the balls of the feet, lifting the heels.
  6. Once stable, the base can remove the feet from the flyer's sit bones.
  7. The flyer then bends the knees into a squat, engaging the Core and Hip adductors and keeping the toes pointed.
  8. To exit, the base places the feet back under the flyer's sit bones and lowers the flyer's feet to the ground.

Form tips

  1. You can use a Hand-to-hand grip or a C-grip on the feet here, but the hand-to-hand grip is commonly preferred.
  2. The base can squeeze the elbows toward the torso to stabilize the arms.
  3. The flyer keeps the "high heel" position, the chest and gaze forward, and the Glutes and inner thighs engaged.
