Dumbbell overhead squat

Technique

  1. Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, holding a dumbbell in each hand straight overhead.
  2. Squat down by bending at the hips and knees until your thighs are at least parallel to the ground.
  3. Push through your heels to return to a standing position while keeping the weights stable above you.

Form tips

  1. Keep your arms fully extended and locked overhead throughout the movement. This requires a good Shoulder flexion backward flexibility.
  2. Maintain an upright torso and do not let your chest collapse forward.
