Pike position

Pike position

The pike position involves folding your body in two by bending at the hips and getting your legs closed together against your torso. The legs should stay straight. The more flexible is your posterior chain (especially the hamstrings), the more you will be able to fold forward, thus improving your form.

It is an important position in many calisthenics and gymnastics exercises. In order to develop a good pike position, you will not only need to improve your posterior chain flexibility (especially the hamstrings), but also your core and hips flexors strength.
