Stand up, step the feet apart a little wider than shoulder width, turning the right foot open to 90 degrees and turn the hips and shoulders to face the same way.
Bend the right knee to 90 degrees, extending the left leg and keeping the foot on the floor at about a 45 degree angle.
On an exhale, bring the left hand to the floor inside the right foot, and reach the right arm straight up.
Gaze at the right hand.
Take 5 breaths.
Stand up, rotate the feet and repeat on the other side.
Form tips
Keep the front knee bent as you move into the pose, and keep it in line with the ankle and hip.
Move the bottom shoulder and bent knee toward each other and the centerline of the body, rather than allowing them to move away from each other.
Work the opposing force of the hands pressing down and reaching up to create a twist in the upper back.
Keep the legs stable and strong to keep the centerline of the body in alignment.
